Retired Priests’ Reunion

The annual reunion Mass and lunch for our retired priests was held in York on 14th September. Mgr Dasey was the principal concelebrant, and Mgr Hogan, a member of the Retired Priests’ Welfare Committee, preached the homily.

We remembered especially those who had gone to the Lord since last year’s reunion - Bishop Harris, Mgr Pat Lannen, Frs Jimmy Hughes, Eamon Carson, Ted Scales and Tony Storey - most of them regulars at the reunion. Prayers were said also for Bishop Crowley’s speedy recovery from illness, and our sick retired priests were also remembered. It was particularly pleasing that Mgr Tony Bickerstaffe, who is now a resident at St Catherine’s home in Hull, was able to join us.
