Saint Margaret Clitherow is an inspiration to all Catholics and especially those living in and around the city of York.

The Knights of St Columba Council 95 (York) are planning to put forward a petition to the Lord Mayor of York and the City Council that a street in York should be named after this very brave and deeply spiritual woman. There are currently petitions out in most of the Churches in York. However if any Churches in the Diocese are interested in signing email John Rayne-Davis Deputy Grand Knight on Dijohnv@aol.com or phone him on 01904 706867 and we will send you a petition form.

It is our intention to present these petitions to the new Lord Mayor taking office in May of this year who is Councillor Keith Hayman.

The street would probably be a new housing development on the edge of the city or possibly an unnamed river walk.
