Outdoor Nativity Set Wanted

Parishioners at Saint Mary and St Romuald, Yarm, are very eager to acquire, or borrow, a set of Nativity figures suitable for outdoor use, to decorate the front of the Church on Yarm High Street.

York University CAFOD Advent Service

[ Saturday December 8, 2007; 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. ] Students from the University of York have planned a CAFOD Advent Service!

It is taken from the “Live Simply” Advent Service promoting the themes of Advent and Cafod.

York University Catholic Students Christmas Fair

[ Wednesday December 5, 2007; 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. ] The Catholic Students’ Society at the University of York is holding a Christmas Fayre at St Paul’s Church, Heslington on Wednesday 5th December from 5pm until 8pm.

Welcome the New Bishop of Middlesbrough

His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI, has appointed Monsignor Terence Patrick Drainey the Seventh Bishop of Middlesbrough.

Vital Supplies Reach Sick Children

Two consignments left our diocese for Baghdad Central Training Hospital for Children over the summer and both consignments reached the hospital thanks to the support from the British Embassy and the Iraqi Ministry of Health in the City.

Sister Mary Raphael’s 100th birthday

Sr Mary Raphael (Teresa Harrison) was born in Hull on 20th October 1907. The family lived in the Spring Bank area and numbered three boys and seven girls. The two remaining are Sr Raphael and Sr Benedict (now 98).
