Humphrey McColl, Upper Sixth, and Frankie Palazzo, Middle Sixth, recently made the journey to Newcastle to audition for the National Youth Theatre and both have been awarded places. In January, International concert pianist Philip Martin visited Ampleforth for a day of recitals and masterclasses. He had just returned from his native Dublin where he premiered his third piano concerto with the National Symphony of Ireland. Read More
The Pipers and Drummers of Queen Margaret’s School, Escrick, joined forces with the Ampleforth Highlanders’ Pipe Band in January to give a 20 minute performance in the art of piping and drumming to school pupils. The session was given as part of an educational initiative to promote future events and attract new players to both Bands. Read More

Three Sixth Form Cadets from Ampleforth College Combined Cadet Force will carry out a sponsored Bungee Jump in aid of the Help for Heroes charity, which supports wounded soldiers, and aims to raise £5m to build a gym and swimming pool at Headley Court, a rehabilitation centre in Surrey which specialises in battle injuries.
