On 2nd July 1858, St Peter’s Church on Scarborough’s North Cliff was solemnly opened as the first Catholic Church in the town, replacing a small chapel on an adjoining site, and 50 years later on 2nd July 1908, the Church was consecrated by Bishop Lacy. So on 2nd July 2008, Bishop Terry and Fr John Loughlin, parish priest, were joined by many of the priests who had served in the parish over the years including Mgr Dasey VG for a concelebrated Mass of thanksgiving to celebrate the 150th anniversary. St Mary’s College Media Studies Students held an ‘Oscars’ ceremony to showcase their ‘A’-level production work at Teesside University on Wednesday 18th June. The ceremony began with light refreshments followed by a showing of 15 films. Students had to work in groups to produce the opening two minutes of a new thriller, including titles. Read More

Humphrey McColl, Upper Sixth, and Frankie Palazzo, Middle Sixth, recently made the journey to Newcastle to audition for the National Youth Theatre and both have been awarded places.
