St Martin’s Ampleforth Prep School are very proud of their Year 8 pupils who have achieved the best scholarship and Common Entrance results in living memory. Fr Gabriel, the Headmaster at Ampleforth College, described the results as ‘excellent‘ and is looking forward to welcoming so many talented and able pupils to the College this September.

Thanks to the generosity of former pupil and current parent, Peter Savill, St Martin’s Ampleforth were able to open the impressive newly constructed ‘Savill Centre’, a specially designed five classroom teaching suite. This impressive new high tech facility will be used primarily for teaching English, French and Latin to Years 6, 7 and 8.

Accepting a very kind invitation from the headteacher Mrs Alexander-Sowa to a post-Pentecost celebration in her school, I found myself along with many parents in St Therese of Lisieux School, Ingleby Barwick looking forward to the opportunity to ‘really experience the Holy Spirit in the children’s performance’. We were certainly not disappointed.

The beautiful morning of Thursday 17th June saw Bishop Terry breaking the ground for the new Trinity College, which is to be built on Saltersgill Avenue in Middlesbrough.
The College is currently operating on two sites, Newlands School and St David’s Technology College.
