Honour for Monsignor Hogan

On Friday 24th July 2009, Mgr David Hogan was invited by His Excellency David Lawrence Smith, Lieutenant for England and Wales of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, through the President of the Northumbrian Section (the four Dioceses in the North East of England) Mr Joe McNally, to succeed the late Bishop Kevin Dunn as the Prior of the Northumbrian Section of the Order.

Mgr Hogan is the first Prior to be appointed who is not a Bishop.

The Order is international with the Cardinal Grand Master being Cardinal John Foley and support the Church in the Holy Land by assisting parishes, schools, hospitals and many other Catholic bodies and groups. Mgr Hogan was formerly the chaplain to the Northumbrian section and is a Knight Commander of the Holy Sepulchre.
