Do you sing? Yes? Then don’t miss the chance to be part of this year’s Diocesan Choirs Festival, which will be held on Saturday 2nd July at St Joseph’s Church, Pickering.
The Festival, which is open to singers and choir members from throughout the Diocese, will be led by one of the country’s foremost liturgical musicians, Martin Foster. Martin is acting Secretary to the Liturgy Department of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, and is a well known choral conductor and composer; you may well have sung some of his music in your parish, much of which appears in the books ‘Laudate‘ and ‘Resurrexit‘.
Martin will be leading us in a wide variety of music, including a selection of freshly composed settings of the New Missal texts.
The day begins at 10.30 am and ends with a Festival Mass at 4.00 pm. Please bring a packed lunch!
We very much hope that you will want to be part of this exciting and important occasion and that priests and music leaders will bring their choirs to this event (cost £5.00 per person includes music pack).
