History
The church was built 1849-50 following Irish immigration into the Walmgate area. A Chaepl of Ease to St Wilfrid’s until 1858; nevertheless, used as the pro-cathedral fro the Diocese of Beverley, 1850-64 (Architect: Joseph Hansom).
