Perhaps, today more than ever, we need missionary disciples who convey the gift of the Risen Lord to the world; who voice to the ends of the earth the hope that Jesus gives us; and who go wherever there is a heart that waits, seeks, and is in need. Yes, to the ends of the earth, to the farthest reaches, where there is no hope. Pope Leo XIV
In every age, the Church is renewed by hearts that dare to live the Gospel boldly. Today, Christ calls each one of us—not only priests or missionaries abroad, but every baptised believer—to share His love with the world. Evangelisation is not a task for a select few; it is the joyful vocation of the entire People of God.
Jesus reminds us, “You are the light of the world.” Our families, workplaces, communities, and parishes are waiting for that light. When we reach out with compassion, speak words of hope, and witness to our faith through daily acts of love, we allow Christ to be seen through us.
The mission begins with a simple “yes.”
A yes to deepening our own relationship with God.
A yes to stepping beyond our comfort zones.
A yes to noticing those who feel lost, alone, or distant from the Church.
A yes to offering our gifts—great or small—for God’s work.
You don’t need special training or extraordinary talents to be a missionary disciple. You need only a willing heart. The Holy Spirit does the rest.
Let us be courageous. Let us be joyful. Let us bring Christ to others with humility, authenticity, and love. In doing so, we not only transform the world—we allow God to transform us.
