The Rite of Election, a wonderful ceremony on the Journey in Faith undertaken by those wishing to enter into the Church, took place at St Mary’s Cathedral recently.
During the Rite, and with the support of their sponsors, catechumens and candidates publicly affirmed their promises to know, love and follow Christ. They then added their names to the Book of the Elect. Finally they returned to their own parishes to prepare to enter into full Communion at Easter.
