Catenian Pilgrimage

On a beautiful ‘Indian summer’s’ day in September, Catenians and their families from Province 5 and Province 3 North made their way to the Chapel of Our Lady of Grace on Mount Grace, above the priory and village of Osmotherley.

The Mysteries of Light, added to the Rosary by Pope John Paul II, were led by Bro Paul Henderson of Newcastle 5 Circle, and followed by the Litany of Our Lady and a prayer for vocations. Mass was celebrated by Fr John Paul Leonard, now at Sacred Heart Parish, Middlesbrough, assisted by Deacon John Detain, a Brother of Hartlepool Circle.

This very devout and moving experience is to become an annual pilgrimage. Next year, it will take place on Sunday 19th September. Fr John Paul, recalling a Mass that he announced with two phone calls, days after his ordination, was attended by over a 100 pilgrims, invited Brothers attending this year to apply the binary system to next year’s pilgrimage!
