Middlesbrough Catenians (Circle 30) entertained members of the clergy at their 81st Annual Dinner held at the Riverside Stadium on Friday 23rd January 2009.
Over 130 brothers and their guests joined in thanking the priests and deacons of the Diocese for their continued hard work in looking after our spiritual needs throughout the year. Bro President John Maloy proposed the toast to the clergy and guests to which Rev Gerard Robinson responded and in turn proposed the toast to the Catenian Association. Past Grand President Bro John Clarke responded on behalf of the Catenian Association. Before we all sat down to dinner, the Right Rev Mgr Canon Gerard Dasey led us in a short prayer for Pope Benedict. A charity raffle during the evening raised £396 for The Ellen Timney Foundation.
