Franciscan Footsteps

Members of the Secular Franciscan Order of the York Fraternity of St Colette were the first to try the proposed walk round the Franciscan Friary remains in Richmond, North Yorkshire, as a preliminary to celebrating, in 2008, the 750th Anniversary of the Founding of the Franciscan Friary in Richmond, North Yorkshire.

Their visit began with the Midday Angelus in Ss Joseph and Francis Xavier Church in Richmond, followed by lunch and then the walk. With stopping at various points of interest, the visit took an hour and a half and concluded in the Friary ruins with the Franciscan Office of the Day being said. Michael, in the photograph, took part in the 700th Celebrations in 1958.
