CAFOD Family Fast Day on 5th October was a great success at St David’s RC Technology College. The theme this year was ‘Live Simply and Walk in Solidarity with the Poor’.
Our day began with the full school walking One Thousand Miles in an hour around the school site. A bucket collection was taken and very few got past without donating at least a few pennies!
The main focus of the day was the Hunger Lunch. For the price of our usual dinner, students and staff were given a bread roll, a slice of cheese and a cup of tomato soup. Each form also designed a footprint expressing what it meant to them to walk in solidarity with the poor.
Our School raised nearly £600 for CAFOD and we spent a lovely day reflecting on the LiveSimply message.
