People passing St. Andrew’s Church Hall in Teesville, Middlesbrough, on Sunday, July 11 could be forgiven for thinking that parishioners had finally run out of patience with their parish Deacon, the Rev. Pat Thomas, when he was locked in a set of stocks outside of the church hall and soaked with wet sponges.
But in reality it was the parish garden fête, and we have to admit, he did volunteer along with other upstanding members of the Church community who were generally soaked!! Lots of children had great pleasure in taking revenge on their mams and dads. It was a wonderful day for the local community who were out in force and just over £5000 was raised. A big thank you to all who supported the event in any way.
