Easter in Catterick

Two Catholics made up the dozen of clergy and parishioners of St Anne’s Church of England Parish Church, making a Stations of the Cross on the Monday before Good Friday around the village. The way followed the traditional Catholic form of the Stations and each stopping point was marked with a holly leaf, symbolic of the Crown of Thorns. Appropriately, the twelfth Station was the Crucifix War Memorial just outside the village and where the Cross carried round was laid down. The conclusion was in the Parish Church, gathering for a final prayer before the Lady Altar.
