The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the liturgical and catechetical process designed for adults attracted by Christ and his teaching. It supports them as they seek to respond more deeply and to enter into the Communion of the Church.
Dates for 2024
Saturday 20th January, RCIA Retreat Day 10.00am to 3.00pm, Fr Kelly Room, Our Lady’s, Acomb, York. The day is open for all those participating in a parish RCIA programme along with their catechists. Sunday 18th February at 3.00pm, Rite of Election at St Mary’s Cathedral, Dalby Way, Coulby Newham. Rt Rev Terence Patrick Drainey, Bishop of Middlesbrough will preside. This is for all those who are either Catechumens or Candidates and wishing to be received into the Church at Easter.
if there is anyone from your parish who wishes to attend the Rite of Election please let Deacon David Cross know by Wednesday 7th February giving the name of the person(s) , the parish and Parish Priests name along with the number of relatives and catechists that wish to attend.
