The Abbess and the community of Benedictine Sisters, along with the architects of the new Abbey at Wass, recently held a media day to show members of the press including the BBC and religious correspondents from national newspapers around the new eco-friendly Abbey.
Dame Andrea, Mother Abbess, explained the aims, values and history of the order, whilst the architects explained the design of the abbey which is currently in phase one of development. The second will be the building of a church and the final phase will be the building a library and accomodation for guests. Both phases two and three depend upon funds becoming available.
