St Joseph’s Church, Middlesbrough celebrated the Feast of St Thomas the Apostle on 3rd July.
St Thomas the Apostle was martyred in India while proclaiming Jesus Christ. He is the founder of Christian belief in India. Perhaps he was the only apostle who went outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel.
This is the fifth year that the parish has celebrated St Thomas’ Feast in Middlesbrough with the Indian community. Celebrations were led by Fr Pat Keogh. A splendid spiritual message was given by parish priest, Fr Keogh, emphasizing the need for encouraging the Christian beliefs.
There was adoration of the Holy Sacrament and rosary of Mother Mary with intercessory prayers for the whole world. Music ministry added the beauty to the programme. Fr Keogh conducted a healing ministry and prayer which was a blessing for many.
The prayerful procession with the escorted statue of St Thomas and enriched traditional brollies from India was admirable. The enchanting Feast ended with a final blessing by Fr Keogh.
