Young parishioners helped raise £735 towards a new defibrillator for St Thérèse of Lisieux Church in Ingleby Barwick by selling raffle tickets after Mass.
The money was added to other donations collected in the area and the device has now been ordered. Once it has been delivered, it will be fitted outside the church.
“We are very thankful to Canon Alan for allowing us to fundraise, and to our parishioners who were so supportive,” said Kerry Roberts, of the organising committee.
“We also have another three defibrillators on order for new sites in Ingleby. We will continue our fundraising efforts and once new sites have been identified, we hope to have eight within 500 metres of each other.”
