If you do light a candle during Advent, please remember those seeking sanctuary. Those who have been detained from our area, Fatuma, Patrick, Habibulla, Mr. Khan, two Iranian men and a young Eritrean Christian unknown to us. The rate at which people are being put out onto the street is frightening and will put even more pressure on local charities. We would ask for prayers for Anselme at this time.
As the vouchers refugees receive are being replaced in January with the Azure card, it is important those who are willing to become an Azure friend let us know soon, so that we can let you know how and who you (or your parish/community group) will ‘befriend’ and how you can use the Azure card for part of your shopping, thereby allowing the refugee to have some cash for bus fares, hair cuts, phone calls home, shoe repair, charity shop clothing.
