Come to Me all you that are burdened

Canon Twomey and St Aelred’s Parish SVP organised a Healing Service which was held on Sunday 9th September at 2.30 pm. About 45 people attended, some from neighbouring parishes. The theme was ‘Come to Me all you that are burdened’ and covered healing of memories, relationships, spiritual healing and physical healing. Everyone was invited to receive the Anointing of the Sick. Peter Dillon led the hymns and everyone enjoyed afternoon tea in the Community Centre afterwards.

If you would like to join the SVP or be involved in any way, you would be most welcome. We visit people in their homes, in nursing and residential homes and prisons. We support needy families in the parish and local community and at times, we provide transport taking people to church/shopping etc. The SVP is a lay, ecumenical group, committed to putting our Christian faith into action and relies solely on your generosity to support the poor, lonely, sick and housebound in our community. If you know of a parishioner who would like a visit or a needy family, please fill in the forms in the porch. For more information please contact Catherine McGlinchey on (01904) 415859 or 07950 488685 or Canon Twomey on (01904) 426446.

Thank you to all who helped in any way with our Healing Service.
