On hearing of the award of ‘City of Culture’ to Hull the Bishop of Middlesbrough said “The Roman Catholic Diocese of Middlesbrough is especially proud of this award, because Hull forms an important and integral part of the Catholic Life of our region. When one part of the family is recognised all the members bath in the reflected glory. So we are all proud of you, Hull! ”
