The day in the Church’s year dedicated to celebrating the dignity of life and praying for the protection of human life.
This year we look at how to cherish life while we can and accept death when it comes.
There will be a mandatory second collection in parishes to support Day for Life
Proceeds of the collection will go to The Anscombe Bioethics Centre and other pro-life related activities supported by the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
Prayer for a good death
O blessed Joseph
who breathed your last in the arms of Jesus
and Mary
obtain for me this grace
that I may breathe forth my soul in praise
saying in spirit, if I am unable to do so in words
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I give Thee my heart and my soul.”
Amen.
From next year onwards the Day for Life will be celebrated on the third Sunday of June, i.e. June 19th 2016.
