Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is pleased to announce the success of its fifth Design Awards Scheme. This biennial scheme is intended to give support and recognition to projects which have achieved high design standards.

Fifteen projects were assessed on the 14th July 2010 by five independent assessors.

Two projects were felt to be deserving of Design Awards and a further six received commendations.

The Council continually tries to raise design standards across the Borough and is pleased that these eight projects have aimed at and achieved high quality solutions.

Good design contributes to everyone’s quality of life and helps to make places that people want to live in, work in and visit. These projects challenge other developers to think more imaginatively about their schemes and to produce projects which make the Borough a better and more attractive place to live.
