Diocesan Choir News

On Sunday 3rd October, the Diocesan Choir led the singing at the Mass to celebrate 50 years of CAFOD Fast Days. The Choir and congregation were accompanied by the beautiful and skilled organ playing of Fr William Charlton and the music was conducted by the Director of Music, Timothy Craig Harrison. Marty Haugen’s rousing ‘Mass of Creation‘ was balanced by the delicate ‘New Plainsong‘ Gloria by David Hurd and Martin Foster’s lovely setting of the Lamb of God. During Communion, the Choir sang the much-loved setting of ‘Panis Angelicus‘ by Cesar Franck. The fine singing of the Diocesan Choir and cantors did much to enhance the sense of grandeur on this splendid occasion.
