Mini-retreat focuses on power of forgiveness

Bishop David Oakley will be the keynote speaker at a free online mini-retreat to show how forgiveness is a powerful element in helping us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The meeting is hosted by ADoRE, one of the longest-running charismatic days of renewal in the country, and includes Mass, adoration, praise and worship and inspired teaching.
Guest speaker on Saturday June 24 is Bishop of Northampton David Oakley, episcopal advisor for charismatic renewal to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
He will focus on showing why forgiveness was such an important element of Christ’s mission, and is essential in our own efforts to evangelise.
“In a culture that is increasingly critical and resentful, it is becoming ever more urgent to proclaim the Good News of forgiveness that Jesus brings – and this is a mission that involves all of us,” a spokesman for the organiser said.
“As Pope Francis stated in The Joy of the Gospel: ‘In virtue of their baptism, all the members of the People of God have become missionary disciples…. Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelisation’.”
The mini-retreat is from 10am to 1pm. Register for the Zoom meeting in advance at bit.ly/ADOREJUN2023.
