History
Mass was celebrated locally from 1968, latterly in the brick building which is now the parish hall. The church was built in 1974-5 to much the same design as Saint Thomas More’s (Architects Frank Swainston and Company).
In 2021 the parishes of Saint Gabriel in Ormesby and Corpus Christi in Thorntree were canonically amalgamated to become the new parish of ‘Our Lady of Perpetual Help’.
