Remembering Charlotte

Readers may remember the very moving story of Charlotte Wren, the only child of Mike and Claire Wren which we reported in last September’s Catholic Voice. Three-year old Charlotte lost her brave struggle against leukaemia last year, a long struggle in a short life.

Since then Claire and Mike have set up The Charlotte Wren Forget Me Not Fund for research into childhood leukaemia and their tireless work has really struck a chord with the people of Teesside in particular. The local evening paper, The Evening Gazette, ran a Wish Campaign late in 2007 and of the 199 local good causes which registered The Charlotte Wren Forget Me Not Fund topped the list.

But the work is far from over and much more research is needed.

There will be a Charity Evening with all proceeds to The Charlotte Wren Forget Me Not Fund for research into childhood Leukaemia at the Marton Country Club Friday on May 9th 7.30 – 12.00
