A Celebration of Lay Carmel

On Saturday 20th February there will be a meeting of the Carmelite Spirituality Group at Lawrence Street, York looking at the topic of “A Celebration of Lay Carmel”, with a presentation on Blessed Isidore Bakanja by Maureen Pickman (York Carmelite Spirituality Group) and an update on the Carmelite Third Order in Britain today by John Berry (Prior Provincial’s Delegate to the Third Order).

This meeting will include receptions into the Third Order (please contact Johan in advance if this vocation would be of interest to you). This meeting will also include discussion about the future of the group. It is hoped that the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will take place during the 9.30am liturgy.

Group meetings generally take place at 110 Lawrence Street, home of the Corpus Christi Carmelite Sisters. Meetings begin at 10.15am, preceded by optional Eucharist or Morning Prayer at 9.30am, and coffee at 10am. We generally have Lectio Divina Bible meditation at 12pm, and conclude with a bring-and-share lunch at 1pm.

All are welcome to attend all or any part of the day.

In addition to these events, the Elijah’s Well (Third Order) faith sharing group
meets regularly throughout the year.
