A Passion for Peace

Middlesbrough Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission presents a talk by Bruce Kent, ‘A Passion for Peace’, on Saturday 12th February 2011, 10.30 am at St Bede’s Pastoral Centre, Blossom Street, York

One day it’s going to dawn on the human race that war is as barbaric a means of resolving conflict as cannibalism is a means of coping with diet deficiencies.

Bruce Kent is a name synonymous with the role of Christian peace activist. His commitment has endured for half a century and his enthusiasm for the task is as strong as ever. He will be with us in York on 12th February and his talk promises to be passionate and energising.

A few quotations

Anti poverty and environmental protection groups must make it clear that war is a major cause of poverty and environmental damage.

The time has run out for traditional military answers. Ours is a culture of war but cultures can change. We need education in peace and international understanding and so much more.

Everyone is very welcome. Parking available in All Saints Lower School Car Park. Tea/Coffee from 10am.
