Angels and Saints 10 years on

St Mary’s Cathedral 10th Anniversary of the Children’s Liturgy Group

In 1997, three mothers decided the Cathedral should have a Children’s Liturgy Group and with the support of the late Fr Gerard Smyth, our group started in the church hall. A few years later, as the number of children grew, the group split into two; the ‘Angels’ for the younger children and the ‘Saints’ for the older ones. Throughout the years, the children have been involved in many activities in and out of the Cathedral including the children’s Christmas Eve Mass and Fun in the Park. The success of the group is based on the strength of faith of the parents involved and the desire for their children to learn more of God’s love.

Mgr Ricardo Morgan celebrated a joyful Mass with the children participating in the readings, bidding prayers, music and offertory procession. Andy and Jonny and friends provided the music. After the Mass there was ‘birthday’ cake and drinks in the hall.

A celebration to be remembered by all who attended. All at St Mary’s Cathedral wish the Children’s Liturgy Group continued success.
