Applications are now open for Durham University’s Centre of Catholic Studies’ distance learning programmes in Catholic Theology for October 2024.
The programme, led by the Centre for Catholic Studies (CCS) and the university’s world-leading Department of Theology and Religion, are designed so participants can work through material at their own pace, studying equally well in any time zone and in many life situations, alongside work, ministry, family or caring obligations.
Students can enrol for a postgraduate certificate, a postgraduate diploma or the full MA.
The programme is suitable both for those who have studied theology before and for those who have a background in a related discipline, such as history, English, law or philosophy.
The CCS offers a Bursary Fund specifically to support students on these programmes in 2024-25.
Modules on offer:
- Catholic Theology: A Preliminary Tour (core module)
- Catholic Social Thought
- The Thought of Thomas Aquinas in Context
- Conceiving Change in Contemporary Catholicism
- Twentieth-Century Catholic Theology
- High Medieval Franciscan Theology
- Faith and Reason
