Co-director of the Newcastle University Chamber Choir, Laura Watson
Choir presents a joyful start to Advent

To welcome the start of Advent and the Christmas season, Newcastle University Chamber Choir presents Oh Holy Night, a beautiful selection of music at St Mary’s Cathedral.
The choir is co-directed by alto choral scholar Laura Watson, who was a St Mary’s Cathedral altar server for 12 years, six of those as MC, and was an alto scholar in the Cathedral Choir before she went to Newcastle to study Pharmacy.
The choir is a vibrant ensemble of students from across the university who are studying a wide range of subjects, not just music.
As part of the university’s Music Society, it is widely regarded as its most accomplished ensemble, consistently delivering performances marked by exceptional musical refinement and artistry.
O Holy Night will feature beloved seasonal works by composers such as Bob Chilcott, Mack Wilberg, Adolphe Adam, Harold Darke and David Willcocks.
Promising a peaceful yet uplifting evening, the concert is sure to leave audiences inspired and ready to welcome the First Sunday of Advent and the festive season.
Tickets will be on sale after 10am Mass on Sunday November 23 and are also available from the cathedral box office on 01642 597750, as well as from the link below.
