Come Home for Christmas

A Catholic and lost contact?

  • You are welcome!
  • The door of your local Catholic church is open to you.
  • Whatever your situation or circumstances, however much time has lapsed since your last visit to a church, there is a place for you.
  • If you are feeling afraid or apprehensive, there is no need to be.
  • The Church will not judge you. God is extending an invitation to you. You are part of His and our family.
  • The message of Jesus centres on the unconditional love of God and His mercy, forgiveness and healing. Come and receive.

The Church acknowledges that some people may have been hurt by Catholics in the past. We are ready to listen to you and your story and we are very sorry for when and where harm has been done. The Church has learnt from its mistakes. It has changed and if you’ve been away for a long time, come and see for yourself.

Here’s a message from Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor:

“My Dear Friends, A warm welcome awaits you. At your own pace and in your own time, we’d be interested to hear your story and learn from your experiences. You are an important member of
the Body of Christ. Come.”

If you’re not ready to visit a Catholic church please visit our tailor-made website which can be found at: www.comehomeforchristmas.co.uk

Christmas is a time when many people return home to be with their nearest and dearest. The Catholic Church holds you dearly. This December, come and share the Christmas celebration with us… “Come home for Christmas”.

A Message From Mgr Gerard Dasey, Diocesan Administrator

“Dear Friends, There may have been reasons why you became separated from our Catholic
Family – the Church. There may be now reasons why you ought to return. On behalf of the Catholic Family, I am saying: “Welcome home’.”
