After beginning to read Isaiah’s prophecies during Advent, the READ-A-BOOK-A-MONTH bible-challenge continues with the histories during January and February, reading the First and Second Books of Kings.

Here are exciting accounts of confrontations between kings and prophets, as the nation is torn into two kingdoms. Even the weather is God’s tool in attempting to reclaim His people from idolatry and self-indulgence. As punishment becomes inevitable, blessing and restoration are the long-term promise.

The launch event for 1 and 2 Kings will be east of the river at St Luke’s C of E Church in Burton Stone Lane, Sunday 10th January, 6.30 pm. The service will begin with evening prayer then dramatic excerpts from 1 and 2 Kings, followed by refreshments. All welcome.
