Father Peter passes away in hospital

Father Peter Ryan died peacefully yesterday (Thursday March 13) in James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
Born in Limerick in the Republic of Ireland, Father Peter ministered in the Diocese of Middlesbrough throughout his priestly life, mainly on Teesside and the Esk Valley but also with a year in Hull.
He served for many years as parish priest at St Peter’s, South Bank, where he was a much-loved figure in the local community.
He was also devoted to children and adults with disabilities and was a long-serving chaplain to the Catholic Fellowship.
Funeral arrangements will be made available once they are confirmed.

Please keep Father Peter and his family and friends in your prayers.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
