Where and When?
Invocation 2012 is a national discernment festival for young people, to be held in the grounds of St Mary’s College, Oscott in the Archdiocese of Birmingham from Friday 6th July – Sunday 8th July 2012.
What is It?
This national festival is aimed at young men and women aged 16-35, who are looking to deepen their relationship with Christ and who are searching for the knowledge and tools to develop their own personal formation, discernment and understanding of God’s will for their lives, for some this may mean being open to the possibility of a vocation to the priesthood or religious life. The event will provide “Fellowship, Catechesis, Confession and Adoration” with time for prayer, quiet reflection, and discernment through Keynote speakers, interactive workshops and above all the opportunity to encounter the Lord. We hope that you will also take the time to find space and enjoy conversation, accompanied by inspiring priests and religious, who will journey with you sharing their wealth of experience and providing witness to their lives and vocation.
How Much is It?
£50
The cost for the weekend is only £65.00. This includes admission for the weekend events, all your food and either you tent pitch or place in the sleeping marquee. Accommodation is very basic: Either bring your own tent or stay in one of the large invocation marquees provided, but for those who want something a bit more up-market the website lists local B&Bs and hotels.
Is This for Me?
Any young man or woman between the ages of 16 and 35 who is serious about their relationship with God and is open to discerning His will for their lives is welcome to come along. If you are wondering “Is this for me?” why not take a moment to read some of the quotes from other young people who attended last year, watch the video or take a look at the countless images on the official festival website.
