An initiative of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales
Location: Canning Town, London E16 – Starting Salary: £35,929 plus Benefits
This appointment is fixed term until 31st December 2012
The Catholic 2012 Committee is a new initiative of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference to facilitate the Churches support of the Olympic and Paralympics games in 2012 and to build a legacy of sport and faith within the Catholic community.
We are seeking to appoint an individual who is passionate about sport and will help the Church to respond to the many opportunities that will be presented in the run up to 2012, the period of the Games, and most importantly the legacy of Games. The six aims of the committee are evangelisation, chaplaincy, hospitality, training and support of volunteers, engagement with the cultural Olympiad and the youth legacy. To be successful in this role you must have an understanding of UK and Olympic sports structures and proven project management experience. You will need to be a self starter as this is a new role, with energy and drive to bring to life the aims of the Committee within the next four years. The person appointed will work ecumenically with other faith groups.
This is an exciting and challenging new opportunity to help the Church respond to the 2012 Games and build a legacy of sport and faith in our parishes and schools across the country.
We are applying a Genuine Occupational Requirements (GOR) therefore it is essential that you are a Catholic to undertake this role.
