Moves in the Diocese

The following moves have recently taken place in the Middlesbrough Diocese.

Mgr Ricardo Morgan has left St Mary’s Cathedral in Coulby Newham and become Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, Saltburn and Administrator of St Anthony of Padua, Brotton.

Canon Jerry Twomey has moved to St Mary’s, Filey.

Fr Bill Serplus has become Parish Priest at St Aelred’s, York.

Fr Peter Mulholland is now Parish Priest at St Mary Queen of Martyrs, and Administrator of St Francis of Assisi, Hull.

Fr Roger Guiver has taken over as Parish Administrator at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Staithes, St Anne’s, Ugthorpe and Ss Joseph and Cuthbert, Loftus.

Fr Tom O’Neill is now Parish Priest at Sacred Heart, Middlesbrough and Administrator of Holy Name.

Fr John Bane has moved to English Martyrs, York as Parish Priest with Fr Stephen Maughan in residence, and continuing his work at All Saints school, together with other diocesan responsibilities.

Fr Dominique Minskip is now Parish Priest at St Bede, and Administrator of Sacred Heart, Hull.

Fr Michael Sellers has moved to be co-pastor at St Joseph’s, Scarborough.

Fr Andrew Smith o.praem is now Parish Priest of St Gabriel’s, and Administrator of Corpus Christi.

Fr Jim O’Brien Hull University Chaplain has become Parish Priest of St Vincent’s, Hull whilst maintaining his Chaplaincy role.

Fr Simon Broughton continues his present duties at James Cook University Hospital, assist at Sacred Heart and Holy Name, but now resides at Bishop’s House.

The priests retiring are Canon William Madden, Canon Daniel Spaight, Fr John McKeever, Fr Sean O’Donnell, and Fr Michael White.

Mgr Gerry Dasey has become Administrator of St Alban’s, Redcar in addition to his current roles.

Fr James Blenkinsopp in addition to being Parish Priest at Northallerton, is now Administrator of All Saints’, Thirsk with Rev John Steel moving to reside in Thirsk as Deacon to both parishes. Rev Paul Hagg remains also as Deacon to the parishes and Chaplain to Northallerton Prison.

Fr Michael Keogh Parish Priest of St Patrick’s has taken on the role of Administrator of Christ the King, Thornaby.

Fr John Paul Leonard left Sacred Heart, Middlesbrough in August for Rome.
