Moves in the Diocese of Middlesbrough

The following moves have taken place or are about to take place.

Monsignor Ricardo Morgan is to leave St Mary’s Cathedral in Coulby Newham and become Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes, Saltburn and Administrator of St Anthony of Padua, Brotton

Canon Jerry Twomey is to move to St Mary’s, Filey.

Father Bill Serplus is to become Parish Priest at St Aelred’s, York.

Father Peter Mulholland is to be Parish Priest at St Mary Queen of Martyrs, and Administrator of St Francis of Assisi, Hull.

Father Roger Guiver will take over as Parish Administrator at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Staithes, St Anne’s, Ugthorpe and Ss Joseph and Cuthbert, Loftus.

Father Tom O’Neill is to be Parish Priest at Sacred Heart, Middlesbrough and Administrator of Holy Name.

Father John Bane is to move to English Martyrs, York as Parish Priest with Father Stephen Maughan in residence, and continuing his work at All Saints school, together with other diocesan responsibilities.

Father Dominique Minskip is to be Parish Priest at St Bede, and Administrator of Sacred Heart, Hull.

Father Michael Sellers will move to be co-pastor at St Joseph’s, Scarborough.

Father Andrew Smith o.praem is to be Parish Priest a of St Gabriel’s, and Administrator of Corpus Christi.

Father Jim O’Brien Hull University Chaplain has become Parish Priest of St Vincent’s, Hull whilst maintaining his Chaplaincy role.

Father Simon Broughton will continue his present duties at James Cook University Hospital, assist at Sacred Heart and Holy Name, but reside at Bishop’s House.

The priests retiring are Canon William Madden, Canon Daniel Spaight, Father John McKeever, Father Sean O’Donnell, and Father Michael White.

Monsignor Gerry Dasey will become Administrator of St Alban’s, Redcar in addition to his current roles.

Father James Blenkinsopp in addition to being Parish Priest at Northallerton, will be Administrator of All Saints’, Thirsk with Rev John Steel moving to reside in Thirsk as Deacon to both parishes. Rev Paul Hagg remains also as Deacon to the parishes and Chaplain to Northallerton Prison.

Father Michael Keogh Parish Priest of St Patrick’s will take on the role of Administrator of Christ the King, Thornaby.

Father John Paul Leonard left Sacred Heart, Middlesbrough in August for Rome.
