A free mini-retreat morning on Zoom will look at how every baptised person is called to holiness.
The meeting is hosted by ADoRE, one of the country’s longest-running charismatic days of renewal.
It includes Mass, Adoration, praise and worship, a talk by popular speaker Jenny Baker, national leader of Celebrate Trust, and prayer for all participants to be refilled with the Holy Spirit.
“Many Catholics today tend to think holiness is completely beyond them because they think it has to be achieved solely by their own efforts,” a spokesman for the organiser said.
“But it is Jesus who makes us holy through his death and resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Our retreat will explain this in more detail and show how to be empowered by the Holy Spirit, who has been freely given to us.”
“St Paul famously said. ‘I no longer live but Christ lives in me’ (Galatians 2:20). It’s a powerful statement and we might assume it only applies to Paul and other saints, but it’s a vitally important truth of our faith that every baptised person is called to holiness, chosen by the Lord to be fruitful (John 15:16).
“To understand and live this truth, we need to discover how we are made holy by Jesus.”
The mini-retreat is on Saturday March 23 from 10am to 1pm on Zoom. For full details and advance registration visit bit.ly/ADOREMAR2024.
