The Diocese of Middlesbrough is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and appropriately qualified Choral Director who, working closely with the diocesan Director of Music, will be responsible for working within local diocesan schools to implement and develop the National Schools Singing Programme (NSSP).
The Choral Director will work within 12 schools in the diocese and will be responsible for the development of choral singing in those schools, nurturing potential in the diverse communities those schools are located in.
The core work of the Choral Director takes place during the school day in the diocesan primary schools, although children in the NSSP with a particular interest in singing will be encouraged to take part in after-school choirs.
The Diocese of Middlesbrough extends from Middlesbrough in the north to Hull in the south and includes York. It is envisaged that the role will be primarily involve schools in the northern part of the diocese.
Some travel in the diocese will therefore be required and applicants must hold a UK driving licence and have use of a car.
