Openings For Part-Time Diocesan Health & Safety Officers

Diocesan Health & Safety Officers (Two posts) – Part-time

Salary: In the region of £18,000 (£30,000 pro-rata) three days per week with pension contribution

Fixed Period Contract of two years

Starting: August/September 2020

The Diocese of Middlesbrough is seeking to recruit two enthusiastic and appropriately qualified Health & Safety Officers to join its small, professional team.

The primary focus of the role will be the conduct of Fire Risk Assessments and General Premises Risk Assessments for all churches and parish properties in the Diocese of Middlesbrough.

The postholders will also act as key Health & Safety advisors to the parishes to ensure compliance with the Diocesan Health & Safety Policy. The post holders will support, train and assist in developing risk assessments and will develop policies and procedures necessary to deliver and promote a first-class culture of Health & Safety.

The geographical area of the diocese covers seven local authorities from Middlesbrough in the north to Hull in the south. The diocese is seeking to appoint one officer to serve the parishes in the north of the diocese and one officer to serve the parishes in the south of the diocese.  Both officers will report directly to the Diocesan Property Manager. As these roles are field-based, rather than office-based, daily travel throughout the diocese will be required.

The posts will be for three days per week with flexibility in the days worked.

For more detail about the role, please email Sharon Westcough, Diocesan Property Manager, at propertymanager@rcdmidd.org.uk

For a job description, person specification and application please email bishopsecretary@rcdmidd.org.uk.

Closing Date for Applications: June 23 2020

Interviews to take place: Early July 2020, if government guidance allows.
