You’re Outstanding! That’s the verdict of the recent OFSTED report at All Saints Roman Catholic Primary School, Sowerby, Thirsk. ‘All Saints provides an outstanding education for its pupils’, the OFSTED inspector writes in her report. ‘Your lessons are both fun and challenging, you are a happy family in which children feel secure and make great progress.’ As well as highlighting the wonderful expertise of the dedicated staff, leadership skills of the headteacher and high flying achievements of the children, the inspector praises the personal development of the pupils.

Clearly enjoying her trip to All Saints, the inspector revelled in the variety of teaching styles, and included in her report how the curriculum was taught not only to maximise achievement but enjoyment too. ‘Your school gives you an outstanding education. It takes exceptionally good care of all of you.’

And as if one inspection wasn’t enough, just a few days after the OFSTED inspection, the Middlesbrough diocesan inspection team came to the same conclusion! ‘Teaching is outstanding across the school and is stimulating, lively and challenging, pupils are articulate and confident and the behaviour across the school is outstanding.’

Headteacher Terry Starr, said: ‘We are very pleased that our hard work has been recognised in this way. It is a triumph for all the people involved in our school. It is surprising that still not many people know we are here! If any prospective parents would like to visit the school we will be glad to show them round’.
