Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission meeting

The guest speaker at the Diocesan Justice and Peace meeting on 13th February is to be Christine Allen, the Executive Director of Progressio. Her talk, starting at 10 for 10.30am at St Bede’s Pastoral Centre, York, will be entitled ‘Solidarity in our Complex World’.

She will reflect on the experiences at Copenhagen in December of the Progressio delegation, which included people from partner organisations in Ecuador and El Salvador. She will also talk about the general work and philosophy of Progressio, providing insights into this progressive international charity that empowers communities to solve their own problems through support from skilled workers, lobbies decision-makers, and mobilises people to act to help create lasting change.

There will be a shared lunch. All are welcome.
