On the day people demonstrated in support of the Congolese in several cities, including M’bro, a full page article urged that removals to Congo be stopped. One Anglican Bishop said he wished the Home Office would stop acting as if Kinshasa were Dorking.

Reports on Congo over a week shocked listeners, yet the information given had been toned down for a UK public.

Lukombo Judgement

A judge recently ruled that this man should not be removed before the Country Guidance tribunal gave its decision. Surely, this should be the same for all Congolese people. Yet, on Wed 25th July, 25 Congolese are forcibly removed on Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi and on to Kinshasa.

Thursday 26th July a man is detained in Stockton and issued with removal directions. On the above flight of 6th August. He is a pastor, a man who helps people keep their faith and live good lives, said Jean. His name Benjamin Sukisa Tuambilangana.

Half-term holiday. (19 children)

People on that flight are known to have been tortured, some have ‘disappeared’, children now have malaria. People removed on flights often have to remain in hiding. Home Office said it would not remove people unless it was safe to do so, yet, it has overwhelming evidence in its possession of the reality but keeps postponing the Tribunal, which will study the evidence on DRC. UK has many business interests in DRC. In the week we learn that the Foreign Office is to recall from DRC embassy staff with children, the Home Office plans to forcibly remove people to DRC on 06/08/07.
