St Mary’s Church, Filey, was recently host to a team of 12 (11 Irish and 1 English) members of the Legion of Mary, at the invitation of the Parish Priest, Fr Sean O’Donnell.
The Legion of Mary is a lay Catholic organisation open to men and women over 18 years. It was founded by Frank Duff, a Dublin man, in 1921. It is now a world-wide organisation. The principal work of the Legion is house to house visitation, bringing God and His Mother Mary to everyone. The team spent a week visiting homes in the Filey area.
