The Middlesbrough District Council of the St Vincent de Paul Society held a Half Day of Recollection on 3rd November, hosted by St Bernadette’s Parish Conference at Nunthorpe.

Rev Andrew Burns CSSR of the Redemptorist Community at the John Paul Centre in Middlesbrough provided a stimulating spiritual address which gave much food for thought to a congregation of SVP members from Parish Conferences in the District and other parishioners from St Bernadette’s Parish. A period of reflection was followed by lively discussion and Benediction. The proceedings concluded with tea and splendid scones and cakes baked by members of St Bernadette’s.

The District Council holds a Half Day of Recollection annually for the spiritual development of members but is open to all who wish to attend.
